NLSIU was the first National Law University established in 1988 to pioneer legal education reforms in India. The University has remained a leader in the field of legal education in India for over 30 years. NLSIU has been ranked No 1 in the National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

We funded NLSIU to set up a research program on regulatory governance. As part of this program, NLSIU will study the experiences of regulators across different sectors, and distil good practices that can help improve the quality of rule-making in India.
